AS/NZS3800 – AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair of Hazardous Area Equipment – Coal Mines – Gas/Dust Atmospheres

Purpose:

Competence shall be demonstrated in relation to any classified hazardous areas and explosion-protection techniques. This unit shall be endorsed for each technique in which competency is demonstrated.

Description:

This course consists of National Units of Competency.
At the completion the course, if the learner complies with all the course prerequisites & is deemed competent they will receive a Statement of Attainment for the competencies listed.

Scope

This Competency Standard (AS/NZS 4761.1) Unit covers the explosion-protection aspects of overhauling and repairing explosion-protected equipment and the activities required of the responsible person. It requires the ability to establish and document the level of work required, to arrange for the overhaul/repair to be carried out, to verify compliance of overhauled/repaired equipment and to complete the necessary documentation.

Assessment:

• A representative body of work performance
• Written assessment
• Pratcical assessment

Equipment and Materials:

The training room is a “clean clothes” area only, enclosed footwear at all times. Practical assessments may be conducted in a workshop environment, appropriate PPE, including eye protection; high vis clothing & steel capped safety boots may be required.

Mode of Delivery:

The course is conducted by a qualified trainer and is held at our facilities or yours. Each of our trainer led courses is skill-based and covers a range of certification requirements.
